Happy 7th Birthday

My oldest baby is turning 7, I look at her photos from when she was 2 or 3 and those days seem like a blur, life just goes by too quickly, I feel like I don't take these moments in as much as I should.

I look at Emma today, and just see this beautiful little girl growing before my eyes!  She has such a quiet, happy, responsible personality!  She's doing so well in school, so adaptable, never shows hard or bad feelings to anyone except her sister, which I think is a good thing.  She just makes us so proud! I just can't believe that she's 7 on Monday!!  The thought of her being in First Grade too also blows my mind.  Spelling tests have started and daily homework!

Today we celebrated Emma's birthday with some of her friends  (neighbors and classmates).  Emma chose a Frozen Fever theme, she wanted to dance to KidzBop music, play "Pin the Nose on Olaf" and "Pass the Parcel".  We did a birthday banner with letters you could scramble, made dream catchers as part of the craft, and had an artist come in and do face painting and balloon twisting.  Everyone seems to have had a great time!

I, as always, enjoyed prepping!  Don't know how Rod felt, at times like these I can get somewhat moody because I'm so zoned on giving my child the best birthday and fulfilling all of their requests! Of utmost importance, the birthday cake, lots of early planning there.  Last night at 8pm, fondant cracking and things not working out, had to take a breather, asked for luck from my Kungs.  Finally 3rd times a charm, the cake turned out well, and everyone seemed to enjoy it.  I made a marble cake, as per request from the birthday girl.  I think I found a winning recipe to be used each year.

Here are some pics from the special, fun-filled day!
